Johnsen Family

My name is Dave, and I am the Dad in this family. I am outnumbered 3 to 1 by females (at least amongst the humans). Oh well, that's not a bad problem to have when you love each one of them.

My favorite activity is spending time with my family. There is no greater joy in the world than having something you believe in, live for, and would die for. For me, that something is my family. I was lucky. I found my soul mate at an early age, and I have been happy with that ever since. As of October 14, 2008, we have been married 1/3 of a century. 33 1/3 years. No matter how you look at it, an LP.

I work at Kaiser-Permanente. I was given a gift, in disaster's clothing, when I was 50 years old. I, and many others, were let go from a company I had worked twenty one years for, and anticipated retiring from. After a period of looking, I found an organization I could really get behind working with, KP. I have been there over a year now, and truly feel it is a great place, with great people, and a great mission.

My current favorite hobby is Machine Embroidery. I have sewn for a long time, and I enjoy creating something that is unique in the world. I also enjoy the combination of computers and textiles, and spend a lot of lunch times digitizing new things.

I fly privately. I also fly simulators. I earned my license two days before Jillian was born. I haven't flown a whole bunch since, kind of busy, you know. I have an extensive collection of 20s, 30s, and 40s children's fiction books about flying. If you come across any, let me know. If I don't have it, I am interested.
